For several years, LINCCO has dedicated itself to improving the living conditions of Venezuelans immersed in a profound political, economic, and social crisis. Our past initiatives, such as distributing essential medicines and installing a water filtration system at the Pitahaya Institute in Maracaibo, have provided much needed support. This institution welcomes young girls from disadvantaged rural and indigenous backgrounds.

Our mission is now focused on the education of young girls from these environments, which is the cornerstone of a promising future for them and their families.

For the past few years, LINCCO has mobilized funds to provide scholarships to disadvantaged young girls, allowing them to study at Los Samanes, a private school in Maracaibo. The current economic crisis prevents many families from covering the 50% of school costs usually paid by them. In response, LINCCO undertakes to cover almost the entirety of the annual fees to ensure the continuation of education for these scholarship recipients.

The Venezuelan context underscores the urgency of such initiatives: only 35% of the school curriculum is taught in the public system, where students benefit from 71 days of classes out of the mandatory 200 due to power outages, water shortages, and a severe lack of resources.

Faced with a precarious economic situation, where the average salary no longer suffices to cover basic food needs, over seven million Venezuelans have emigrated, including more than 200,000 teachers. Nearly 20 million people remaining in the country require urgent humanitarian aid. School-age children are particularly affected by this crisis: nearly 70% of them do not attend school regularly.

In this context, the importance of our scholarships is even more pronounced.
Mothers of our scholarship recipients attending Los Samanes school testify to the significant impact of our help:

Amelia thanks the school for the progress of her daughter Jianhuá, encouraged by a dynamic and creative pedagogy.

María describes her daughter Sara‘s school experience as a blessing, praising the emotional and academic development she has experienced there.

LINCCO’s support is crucial for continuing to fill educational gaps, enhancing the quality of education for these young girls, and ensuring its continuity until their graduation.
